Nadine Dorries MP Expense's
@ 25 Jun. 2007 - 05:41:55 pmI feel there is some rather interesting information on Nadine Dorries expenses that I feel needs raising.
On her website she claims that during 2005/2006 she claimed £8,123 on Members travel. She claims 'I anticipate that my mileage around the constituency and backwards and forwards from home to London will between 20,000 - 30,000 miles per year.'. Now the quickest route (according to the AA route finder) between Flitwick and the Houses of Parliament at SW1A 0PW,Westminster is 43.6 miles.
Assuming a mid point of 25,000 miles, this equates to 577.36 trips...or 288 return trips. Incidentally the 30,000 miles would be 344 return trips to London.
However Nadine doesn't make a lot of return trips. She claims £21,634 for 'a flat in Westminster' for when 'I don't finish until very late in the evening and start early the next morning'. Now I don't know how many days she doesn't make the return trip back, but I assume it going to be a fair few to justify the 21 grand for a flat.
There is another complicating factor in this. Nadine claim's she gets 'Great holidays'. Well she should do as BBC Website states 'The parliamentary year, or session, normally runs from mid-November until late July.'. Additionally 'Both Houses of Parliament adjourn several times during the parliamentary year. These holiday periods are known as recesses and they usually occur at Christmas, Easter and Whitsun.'
How can she be doing the 25,000 miles if she is not going to need to make the 288 return trips to London. She doesn't need to be there for anything like amount of time- due to the holidays. And lets factor into this the time when she doesn't have to make a return trip that day because she's staying in the 'flat'. So where are all these miles that she using to claim £8,123 on Members travel. Travelling around her 'constituency' Mid-Bedfordshire? I've never seen her.

Perhaps she stops off at safeway to do some shopping for old people who live in Market Harlborough or Keith Chegwin. Then, when it is teatime she picks them all up and takes them to the village hall for a pea and pie supper, entertaining them with talk of bears and wolves.

I'm not suprised to read this, nadine dorries is not all that she would seem or should i say 'like to be seen'. in her blurb it states she spent most of her life livivng on a council estate in liverpool... not true she did grow up there but left to train as a nurse. she married paul dorries and came back from south africa. they buy a house with pauls money and had her first child. they sold their house in the early ninties and moved to warickshire buying a house out right with the massive profit made from their london house sale.
she worked hard to loose her scouser accent and aspired to become as middle class as possible.... it couldnt be futher from her roots as a working class girl.
granted she did do well with company kids although that was as much of a 'chance out fit' to start with as told peolpe around that time she turned her house into a nursery and got friends to wear uniforms, filling the house with friends children and claimed she was running a nursery as a sales pitch to smithkline-beechame and glaxo who imployed her 'company kids' to get their staff back to work faster, money for old rope.
nadine dorries is a cold, hard women who will cheat and lie to get what she wants, politics is the perfect forum for her, the saying 'if you put yourself on a platter, expect to get nibbled' comes to mind. nadine has much to hide about herself, she has a chequerd past that so far has remained burried but if she keeps making nasty pops at people then some body is bound to start flinging mud back. her comment about 'you can do what you want to me, but mess with my kids...' perhaps nadine should remember the people that she makes cutting and spitfull comments about are some ones daughter...some ones son.....
